October 8th Meeting Recap/Upcoming Meeting
We had a great meeting on October 8th! Richard Heston gave a talk on the "Hidden History of the Founding Fathers"; there is so much history that we have either forgotten or never learned in the first place! We should take every opportunity to expand our knowledge in these areas! Lane Watkins gave a lesson on getting started on Twitter which included information on how much impact you can have by tweeting. He has offered to do small classes for people who want to have "hands on training" to get set up with Twitter. These would most likely be held at Ray's Deli (in their back room) and would be limited to a certain number of people. If you are interested in attending one of these classes, please contact Lane at either (904) 673-0788 or h25pfd@yahoo.com.
We held a straw poll for the Presidential Primary. We will continue to do this at every meeting up until the Prmary in March. Look for the results in another article in this newsletter.
Dan Peterson, Center for Property Rights of the James Madison Institute http://www.jamesmadison.org/ will be our speaker on Thursday, November 12th Dan is prepared to share with you public policy issues to look for in the 2016 Legislative Session that affect private property (especially as it relates to environmental issues). Also,he will share the United Nations' latest plans on global sustainability (including the Pope's Environmental Encyclical), EPA regulation of water, and proposed amendments regarding solar energy." The Session begins in January this year and the Legislature is already holding Committee Hearings so this is the time to be paying attention!
