Exfoliate, Exfoliate, Exfoliate..

A chemical peel is the ideal procedure to help slough off dead skin cells. They help improve the skins texture leaving it soft and bright. Winter time is the ideal season for these types of procedures. Temperatures drop and the wind picks up. This is the time of the year our skin becomes taught and dry due to these changes. Less sun benefits the healing of the skin.

Less UV rays provide a quicker and more effective healing process. Acneic and oily skin types become over dry so their skin produces more oil hence more breakouts and dry skin. Our chemical peels are designed to gently shed the dead surface cells permitting cell regeneration. You will see improvements with hyperpigmentation, fine wrinkles, large pores, skin texture, and tone. Here at Westchester Dermatology we offer a variety of different types of chemical peels.

VI Peel with Precision Plus

Your Peel For Sun Spots and Pigmented Skin.
Hyperpigmentation is a condition when patches of skin become darker than the surrounding skin. Although it is usually harmless, it can be difficult to treat effectively. The VI Peel Precision Plus can help restore the skin tone you deserve.
Specifically formulated for pigmented skin.

The VI Peel will improve the tone, texture and clarity of the skin; reduce or eliminate age spots, freckles, and hyper-pigmentation, including melasma; soften lines and wrinkles; clear acne skin conditions; reduce or eliminate acne scars; and stimulate the production of collagen, for firmer, more youthful skin. Vi Peel also works well in conjunction with lasers, injectables and post procedures.

Dry skin is a very common skin problem and is often worse in the winter months. This is due to the low humidity and use of heating systems in the home. Here are a few helpful tips. Make sure to moisturize your skin with a heavier moisturizer than you normally use, Apply moisturizer immediatley after showering when your skin is still moist. Avoid harsh soaps they deplete the skin of lipids. Exfoliate the skin on a regular basis, this encourages the skin to shed dead skin cells that can build up visibly when the skin is dry. Continue to wear sunscreen even though it is cold outside and cloudy, the sun is still giving off UV rays. Come in for a professional hydrating facial, our estheticians will have your skin moisturized and back to its original condition after just one treatment.
