The Positive Procurement Pledge

As the global marketplace increasingly looks for solid sustainability credentials, GECA is challenging businesses, government agencies, industry groups and NGOs around the world to elevate themselves above the greenwash.

Our soon-to-be-launched Positive Procurement Pledge will give organisations, both big and small, the chance to stand out from the competition and demonstrate leadership and innovation within their sector.

Pledgers will be recognised and rewarded for taking robust positive actions across their supply chain. Those looking for quality suppliers will be able to see who is really doing the right thing. Coming soon!

The GECA Pod is coming to Sydney Indesign

We’re excited to introduce Materials in Mind, a 20 ft (13sqm) used container that has been modified into a beautiful and educational space showcasing a range of GECA certified sustainable building materials and furnishings.

Visitors can interact with the pod via the built-in educational elements, which outline the key environmental, health and social issues associated with different building materials, and by leaving behind their wish for the planet on a wishing tree.

The exhibit will be located near Mafi's showroom in Alexandria for the duration of Sydney Indesign.

GECA is proud to be a Strategic Partner for this year's Sydney Indesign. See you there!

11-12 August, Sydney

Featuring GECA certified materials and products from: Kebony (Mafi)  (pictured above), Astec Paints, BGC Plasterboard, Spectrum Floors, Regupol, Decor Systems, Grass-Cel, and Zenith Interiors.

Tomorrowland: Building for a Sustainable Future

Join us at 'Tomorrowland: Building for a Sustainable Future', an event by The Fifth Estate and co-designed with GECA and Pollinate. It's the summit that will examine key issues and provide insights and tools to enable business to sort the futuristic from the likely and the probable, what’s likely and what’s not.

New technologies and sophisticated, sustainable materials are set to transform the building and construction industry. With this comes an increasingly intense focus on the supply chain and whether it meets sustainable and ethical standards. How do we do business under the pressure of such rapid change? How do we design for the unknown?

An event not to be missed for property executives, design professionals, manufacturers of sustainable materials and procurement professionals on what they need to know about building technologies and materials for the future.

19 September, Sydney.

Welcome to GECA: Grass-Cel

If you like the idea of turf driveways that will stand up to wear and tear, Grass-Cel® is for you - and they are now certified with GECA! Grass-Cel® offers an aesthetically pleasing and environmentally sensitive alternative to usual driveway and parking area materials, providing a secure foundation for cars and service vehicles. The hexagonal cells can be filled with topsoil to create turfed areas, or with pebbles that are resistant to movement.
