Our week with your child was filled with learning!  We enjoyed talking about transportation; we sorted vehicles by how they travel and created a vehicle that travels either on land, in the air, or through the water. Having the Springdale Fire Department visit and show us their fire truck and equipment was such fun! The children learned that firefighters are our friends and they help us!  We loved seeing the fire truck and watching the firefighters dressed in their gear.

• Bible Verse: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart.” Proverbs 3:5 (We will practice this verse for two weeks. Practice at home too!)

• Reading/Phonemic Awareness: We will introduce the letter “Mm” and the sound that /m/makes. (Think moose and muffin)
• Math:  #5
• Unit: Community Helpers
• Show and Tell:  Bring something that begins with the letter and sound of Mm.
• Reminder: We are participating in the Box Tops for Education program.  Please send box tops! 

Last call for Shiloh alumni! We are hosting our first VIP Alumni Tailgate on Friday, October 12th from 5-7pm before the Football Homecoming Game.  Come and enjoy great food, family entertainment, free admission to the game and an alumni t-shirt! Please spread the word and make sure you register at www.shilohsaints.org/resources/alumni as soon as possible!

• October 11 - Fall/Homecoming Parties for 3-day classes from 2:25-2:55. We hope you can join us!
• October 12 - Fall/Homecoming Parties for 5-day classes from 1:45-2:20.  For 5-day classes please note that following the party, we will walk to the Homecoming Pep Rally at 2:35.  If you do not attend the party or the pep rally, please be aware that we will be late to car line that day!
• October 15 - Parent/Teacher Conferences for all classes.  We look forward to sharing with you about your child’s progress.  There is no school on this day. 
• October 22 - Flu vaccines will be given by the Health Department.  Forms will be sent home soon if you would like for your child to participate.
• October 23 - Junior Class Carnival from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm in the SEC gym. Children may dress in non-scary costumes and come for a fun evening of games and treats!  Wristbands will be sold for $10.00 for unlimited play! This is a fundraising event for the Junior Class and the children love this annual event! 
• October 31 - Picture Retakes This is for those who were absent or wish to have pictures retaken. Please return the original photo package on this day if you want to have your child’s picture retaken.
• October 31 - Legacy Farms will bring their portable pumpkin patch.  Children need to wear their red field trip shirt.  If your child is having his/her picture retaken, please wear a regular dress code shirt to school and send the red field trip shirt with your child.
