Financial Reporting requirements: Proposals to simplify the financial and corporate reporting requirements for the smallest businesses are the subject of a Discussion Paper published by BIS and the Financial Reporting Council.

Regional Development Agency assets: The Government has published a list of Regional Development Agency land and property assets that will be transferred to the Homes and Communities Agency.

Higher Education & Science

UK Space Agency: Science Minister David Willetts has announced the external membership of the new UK Space Agency Steering Board. Rob Douglas will chair the Steering Board and other confirmed members are David Southwood, Sally Cantello and Baljit Dhillon.

Low Carbon Economy

Investment in renewable energy: A £6.5 million investment to deliver a new generation of engineering leaders in renewable energy was announced by the Business Secretary Vince Cable.

Green Investment Bank Advisory Group: The appointments to the Advisory Group for the Green Investment Bank were announced  by Vince Cable. The group, chaired by Sir Adrian Montague, will advise Ministers on the establishment of the Green Investment Bank and its strategic direction.

Independent Commission on Banking

Final Report: The Independent Commission on Banking will publish its Final Report on its website and via the London Stock Exchange’s Regulatory News Service at 7am BST on Monday 12th September 2011.
