We are grateful to all our supporters for making it possible to offer life-changing scholarships to ever-increasing numbers of students and educators in our public schools. Applications for our Harvard Executive Leaders, Harvard Principals and Teachers Scholarships close at the end of February. These scholarships provide professional development and leadership opportunities at leading educational institutions. The Public Education Foundation Team Scholarships for Education LeadersThe Teachers Mutual Bank Executive Leadership Scholarship and Scholarships for Principals provide professional development opportunities for Education Leaders in State and Federal Departments of Education across Australia to undertake a short professional leadership program at Harvard University in the USA. The Scholarship provides a successful applicant with the opportunity to explore modes of collaborative working and to identify opportunities for innovative leadership. Applications for these prestigious scholarship are now open and will close Tuesday 20 February 2018.
Murat Dizdar is Deputy Secretary, Operations and Performance NSW Public Schools and the winner of the inaugural Teachers Mutual Bank Executive Leadership Scholarship. He says his Harvard experience has made him a stronger, sharper leader. Teachers ScholarshipsOur new Teachers Scholarships have been created to highlight the important role played by early career teachers in transforming the lives of students. The scholarships provide professional development opportunities to help these teachers excel. The First State Super Teachers Scholarship is designed specifically to support a public school teacher who teaches Early State One or Stage One (K-2). First State Super knows that teachers give young children the foundation blocks for future learning – they are responsible for helping our children feel future ready. The Public Education Foundation’s Teachers Health Early Career Scholarship supports public primary and secondary school teachers in the first three years of their career. As a not-for-profit organisation, Teachers Health gives back to the education community through sponsorships, scholarships and programs to care for the health and wellbeing of those in the education community. Family & Community Service ScholarshipThe FACS Scholarships Program helps young people living in social housing, students on the NSW Housing Register and/or living in crisis accommodation to complete their schooling. New applicants enter the program in Year 10 and if they remain eligible will receive a payment of $1,000 each year whilst they continue their education. Applications close on Friday 23 February 2018. Food Tech ScholarshipFor budding cooks, the NSW Cookery Teachers Association Scholarship assists public school students completing Year 12 in 2017 who intend to continue to university to study a Bachelor of Education (Secondary) or equivalent with a major in Food Technology. In 2018, three scholarships are available. Each scholarship has a value of $6,000 per year for 3 years. Applications for the 2018 Schools Spectacular are Now OpenEvery year The Arts Unit runs the Schools Spectacular. This year will be the biggest yet with over 5,000 of the most talented singers, dancers, musicians and actors from NSW public schools.
