TFF annual report 2014/15: Thank you for your support

Last year was a successful year in our ongoing fight to tackle tobacco and Make Smoking History for Children. We saw many successes including the latest government data highlighting 20,000 fewer smokers in the North West, the number of 14-year old smokers almost halving again from 9% to 5% across the region, smokefree cars for children voted to become law from October 1 2015, glitzy and colourful tobacco packaging will be banned in the UK from May 2016 and an MBE for our Chief Executive Andrea Crossfield.

Editor's note

Hi , welcome to your August eNews.

We recently emailed our annual report to you to share our successes over the past year and to thank you for your continued help and support to tackle tobacco locally. Please read the report and watch our short video to view the highlights from the year.

The TFF team has been busy managing and attending many events for our Smokefree Summer campaign which is receiving fantastic support from members of the public, health professionals and events organisers. We are delighted that smokefree family events have been so positively received and it is great to see so many local organisers adopting a smokefree policy.

We are also delivering a series of Smoke & Mirrors training sessions for young people and adult leads within youth services across the North West throughout August, September and October. The training will provide adults and young people with the skills and knowledge to deliver sessions about tobacco industry practices to groups of young people locally. If you would like to attend one of our training dates please email info@tobaccofreefutures.org for more information.
