Cape Verdean center honors 5 with inaugural award

EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Five notable Rhode Island Cape Verdeans are the first Legends and Legacy Award recipients for the Cape Verdean Progressive Center.

The inaugural recipients include:

Claire Andrade-Watkins, Emerson College associate professor, Brown University visiting fellow, Fox Point Cape Verdean Project director and SPIA Media Productions Inc. president.
