Hail Hot Bottlers!

Spring is in the air and it’s time to get sprung...

My brand new Radio 2 show Good Food Friday is broadcasting on 25th March at midday. Recording in the kitchens at Le Gavroche with my partner in crime Michel Roux Jr has been awesome and I know you’re going to adore the recipes and dishes Michel’s come up with - as well as a few boozy and non-boozy treats from me of course. Keep an eye on bbc.co.uk/radio2 for our show page where you’ll be able to find all the recipes and drinks suggestions to make your very own Easter Feaster.

The Ideal Home Show returns and I shall be raising my glass hosting tastings at the show at London Olympia on Tuesday 22nd and Thursday 24th March with book signings of my latest book Drinking For Chaps.

The final Saturday Kitchen featuring my pal James Martin takes place on 26th March. I’ll be joining the show, tune in to find out how we plan to send James off in style!

I’m returning to the helm of Good Morning Sunday for BBC Radio 2 on 17th April sitting in for Clare Balding. The show kicks off at 7am until 9am and you can request shout outs, dedications and add your comments for me to share on air by emailing gms@bbc.co.uk the week beforehand - always great to hear from you.

20th April and I shall be joining P&O Cruises Britannia to polish my wine glasses and join my Glass House team sharing our passion for great wine and glorious food with the passengers on board.

24th May and tickets are going fast for Let’s Get Fizzical - my sparkling wine event with Three Wine Men as part of London Wine Week. Join Oz, Tim and I at the East Wintergarden, Canary Wharf 6pm for an evening of stellar bubbly and jolly revels. So far we have Pol Roger, Nyetimber, Corney & Barrow, Berry Bros & Rudd, Gusbourne, The Wine Society and many more all pouring prime fizz for sheer fun.

And more immediately, I’ll be joining Matthew and the team this Friday 18th on The Wright Stuff - tune into Channel 5 just after 9am to join in with discussion and debate on the day’s headlines and kickstart your weekend in style.

Now, to wine!

Two belters for you this week, a bargain from Aldi first up. The Exquisite Collection Clairette 2015 (12.5%) is just £5.99 and a white with breezy fragrance that feels like a peach-pineapple victory parade marching into your face. And for a splash out treat, the Wine Society are offering la Rioja Alta Viña Ardanza 2007 Rioja Reserva (13.5%) for £19.50 - a wine of poise, finesse, focus and class that’s spot on with its mellow spice to crown your roast lamb over Easter.

Keep in touch on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and WeChat, Thanks for watching and listening and if you want to read my weekly wine column at Event Magazine you can find it online to read and share for free here.

All the jolliest,

Olly
