Spring is Here! Stretch Those Hamstrings!
|
|
Spring is here, and as such, better weather for exercising! Whether you like to run, walk, bike, or hike, it is important to remember to stretch your hamstring muscles.
To do this in standing, place one heel on a raised surface in front of you, keep your leg straight, and bend forward at the hip until you feel a stretch in the back of your thigh. (See photo.) Hold for 30 seconds then repeat on the other leg.

Gresham Physical Therapy Proud to Partner with Eastwind Running and Endurance Club

Therapeutic Associates is proud to partner with Eastwind Running and Endurance Club. The club has a training run of 4 – 5 miles every weekday starting at 5 am at our clinic. It also has a monthly meeting at the clinic with educational information about health topics.
April Meeting
On Thursday, April 7, John Parr will be presenting on running injuries and their prevention and treatment.
May Meeting
The following month on Thursday, May 5, Nicole Richards will discuss nutrition for optimum health.
All are welcome to any of these events!

In the Community

In February, John Parr, PT, OCS, CMPT volunteered to teach local high school students at the Center for Advanced Learning (CAL). The students were preparing for a competition in health career rehab skills, including taping, testing range of motion and strength and instructing patients in exercise. These ambitious students are on track to become our next generation of physical therapists!
