Lyndon Blue: live reviews
RADIOHEAD @ BRISBANE ENTERTAINMENT CENTRE, FRIDAY NOVEMBER 9
The train pulls up at Central. I’ve got my ticket bulldog-clipped to the inside cover of John Wyndham’s The Chrysalids; harder to lose a book than a strip of card, by my reckoning. And of course, the word “mexican”, because as every boy or girl knows, “The Mexican” is a very very special song.

no lights no lycra
at the banks reserve pavilion, perth
A dance night based on abandoning self-consciousness and professionalism through no lights and no talking as you bust a move, NLNL has finally hit Perth after incarnations across the Eastern States.
Whilst flirting and showing off are moves that are sacrificed, what emerges is self-confidence invested within the purity of dancing as well as a killer work-out to boot. Not to mention the uplifting sight of a town hall filled with shadowy apparitions shifting shapes to Getting Jiggy With It.
$5 from 7pm.
Ed: NLNL is on hiatus later this month when it moves to City Farm. But, there is an installment in Freo if you can't wait. Every Tuesday from 7:55pm, Scots Church, cnr South Tce & Parry St.

GET READY TO ATTEND THIS YEAR'S CONVICTS FOR A CAUSE ROYAL MEDIEVAL WEDDING - AND YOU'RE INVITED!
Their Royal Majesties are celebrating this momentous occasion and will offer crooks, crims and rebels thereof a Royal Pardon in return for a night of imprisonment and a small pledge of $500 bail.
Participants in the event opt to be "locked up" in Fremantle Prison and must raise a minimum of $500 to post bail and be released. The inaugural event in 2010 raised over $30,000 and in 2011 we raised just over $44,000. This year we aim to raise $100,000, which will be distributed equally between Rotary International, Cystic Fibrosis Western Australia and the Liver Foundation of WA.

ONGOING theatre, exhibitions, aarrrght!
casey ayres: tunc
at ok gallery, northbridge
Exhibition runs: 18th October - 18th November 2012.
Tunc - a clipping from a Latin phrase meaning ‘then’ and a pointed anagram –continues Casey Ayres’ investigation into beauty and mythology, extending his photographic practice into a series of repurposed, sculptural ‘props’. Ayres’ draws an uneasy line between autobiography and fiction, altering and documenting his immediate surroundings as a set pursuant of a heightened, cinematic narrative following a decline into unwarranted violence and dangerous nostalgia.

avenue q
at the roleystone theatre, roleystone
November 16, 17, 21, 23, 24, 28 and 30 and December 1
All shows at 8pm except November 24 that also has a 2pm matinee.
AVENUE Q is the story of Princeton, a bright-eyed college grad who comes to New York City with big dreams and a tiny bank account. He soon discovers that the only neighborhood in his price range is Avenue Q; still, the neighbours seem nice. There's Brian the out-of-work comedian and his therapist fiancé Christmas Eve; Nicky the good-hearted slacker and his roommate Rod -- a Republican investment banker who seems to have some sort of secret; an Internet addict called Trekkie Monster; and a very cute kindergarten teaching assistant named Kate. And would you believe the building's superintendent is Gary Coleman?! Yes, that Gary Coleman. Together, Princeton and his new-found friends struggle to find jobs, dates, and their ever-elusive purpose in life. The musical is notable for the use of puppets alongside human actors.
