NCTRC Welcomes New Board Members
As a result of the recently conducted Board election, NCTRC is proud to announce the addition of new members to its Board of Directors. Laura McLachlin, PhD, CTRS, RTC and Kerry (Brown) Steeb, CTRS will officially join the NCTRC Board in June 2020 and serve a three-year term from 2020–2023.
Kerry (Brown) Steeb, CTRS resides in Portland, Oregon. Kerry earned her Bachelor of Science degree in TR from Dalhousie University and a Gerontology certificate from Mount Saint Vincent University. She manages the therapeutic recreation/volunteer programs and services for
residents aged birth to 21 years at the Providence Center for Medically Fragile Children. Her caseload includes 3 co-treats with other therapists; aquatics therapy with OT, ROMP (recreation/occupational therapy movement and play) and TTYL (SLP and TR communication treatment group).
Laura McLachlin, PhD, CTRS, RTC (2020–2023) resides in Chico, California. She earned her Bachelor of Science/Master of Science degrees in Recreation Administration with an option in TR from CSU-Sacramento and her PhD in TR from Texas Woman’s University. Laura is full professor and department co-chair at CSU-Chico. She is on the Recreation Therapy Board of CPRS and has served as chair of the task force for RT licensure in California. She is also the Co-Director of Ability First Sports Camp, a summer camp for youth with physical
disabilities.
NCTRC has recently appointed a new employer representative to the Board of Directors, Shaun Geise, CTRS. Shaun resides in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Shaun earned his Bachelor of Science degree in TR from Indiana Institute of Technology. He has 10 years of experience as a CTRS® and works at Ferraro Behavior Services, LLC as the Compliance Coordinator of Therapy Services. In his current role, he oversees the day to day operations of the Therapy departments which consist of 31 CTRSs that practice across the entire state of Indiana. He will join the Board in June and serve until April 2023.
