OVO Energy Tour of Britain - How your business can get involved
Altrincham will be the start place of the final stage of the 'OVO Energy Tour of Britain 2019' on September 14th, which will see 20 of the best cycling teams in Europe battle it out to win the prestigious race! The town will be extremely busy on this day. If possible try and make plans to use public transport, walk or cycle. If you have customers visiting you for appointments on that day please advise them to allow plenty of additional time. The race will start at 11am but we we have been advised that the town will be busy from 8am. The confirmed route for Altrincham starts from Market St, Shaw's Rd, Central Way, Regent Rd, Railway St, Ashley Rd & out to Hale. More info: www.tourofbritain.co.uk

Cycling themed business front competition

- Window displays up by Saturday 7th September
- Window displays should remain until Sunday 15th September
- Displays will be judged by a design expert and/or a representative from the world of sport
- Judging date tbc but will be between Saturday 7th and Sunday 15th September
Judging Criteria - Displays must be cycle themed
- Recognition will be given to:
Overall wow factor/ impact
Originality
Designing and creating your own display where possible
Good use of space
Incorporating your own products or what you do into your design
T&Cs - The BID will have the right to use photographs of all the displays for promotion
- The BID is not responsible for any loss or damage to items included in the Window Display. Any items of value are placed in a window display at the risk of the entrant
- It will be the responsibility of the entrant to seek the permission of the shop window owner for all/any reason

Cycle to work Competition
Where possible and safe to do so, the BID would like to encourage businesses to support their teams with cycling to work between Monday 2nd and Friday 13th September. How to get involved: Confirm on email that you'd like to take part by Friday 23rd August. Pledge how many miles your team will cycle to help us reach our target of 1,000 miles. Every business that gets involved will be entered into a prize draw to win an 'Office Survival Pack'. Promote that your business is taking part on social media and we will share your posts.

The OVO Energy Tour of Britain’s National Land Art competition is returning this September after the inaugural edition in 2018 captured the imagination of race fans across the UK. Last year's winner was South Molton in Devon. The competition is open to communities, schools, clubs, businesses, land owners and farmers are once again being asked to come up with eye-catching creations in support of Britain’s most prestigious international cycle race.
