PreK-4 (5-Day) eNews

We were all so happy to see each other after a week away from school!  This week was filled with all things “Gingerbread’.   We have counted gingerbread, tasted gingerbread, decorated a gingerbread boy/girl, and compared and contrasted lots of gingerbread stories.  Ask your child what their favorite gingerbread story was.  The next two weeks we will focus on Christmas and why Jesus left heaven to come to earth for us!  The children will be making a special Christmas Book to share with family and friends.

Next Week

  • Bible Verse: “The angel said, don’t be afraid, I have great news! Today a Savior was born for you in the city of David.” Luke 2:10-11 We have added our second verse and will be adding our last verse next week.  Please help your child memorize these special verses at home too
  • Bible: The Christmas Story
  • Reading/Phonemic Awareness: We will introduce the vowel “Kk” and the sound that /K/ makes (think kite and kettle).
  • Math:  #7
  • Unit: Christmas
  • Show and Tell: Something that begins with the letter Kk

Reminders

  • Please label all jackets/sweaters.  There are a lot of navy jackets/sweaters to keep up with in the classroom, and a name on the label is very helpful.
  • Tennis shoes are required each day.
  • Please have at least one extra gaiter or face mask in your child’s backpack.
  • According to DHS mandates, your child’s lunch box must contain: 1 protein, 1 grain, 1 fruit and 1 vegetable OR 2 fruits or 2 vegetables.  Thank you for your help in this area.
