RESERVISTS: Northeast Hurricane Ida Survivors Need Your Help!

September 19, 2021

Dear HFI Reservist,

While many disaster relief organizations like Hope Force International deployed to Louisiana for Hurricane Ida, the U.S. Northeast was also hit hard with flash flooding brought on by 10 inches of rain in 3 hours. Current statistics state that over 1,000 homes have been impacted by Hurricane Ida from Philadelphia, PA to Elizabeth, NJ.

Relatively few disaster relief organizations have engaged in New Jersey — leaving many residents without help over a large stretch of the state.  Fortunately, Hope Force has local support from a partner church — Three Bridges Reformed Church in Three Bridges, New Jersey.  Hope Force, along with volunteers from Three Bridges and Colts Neck Reformed Churches are out this weekend serving. Disaster Services Director, Joey Stoltzfus, and our A-Team HFI Reservist, Kareel Slager, are helping to lead the charge over the weekend.

We are deploying from Saturday, September 25th until Sunday October 3rd, in a response to Hurricane Ida to serve the local community.  This is our first national deployment to the Northeast since Hurricane Sandy hit in 2012. We hope that some of our Northeast HFI Reservists and their friends may be able to come help with the “muck out” of homes.  You are welcome for all, a part, or even daily visits.

If you are able to respond to this call for help, please contact our Hope Force Deployment Coordinator at
