Professional Basketball Players Influence For Good!

I am writing this note to thank you for being a part of the BCI family, and to share some exciting news. Since BCI's inception, our team has worked diligently and passionately to secure Sharm's vision for our organization well into the future.  Now, as the end of our three-year transition period following Sharm's death approaches, we have been blessed with a new and exciting opportunity for growth.  We'll be working with IndieGoGo, an online crowdfunding platform, to help fund the next steps in BCI's journey.  A special thank you to Eli Regalado, co-founder of VideoGoGo, for spearheading BCI's campaign.  His years of experience in online advertising using social media and video will help us to successfully share BCI's vision and purpose throughout the campaign.

Our campaign, with a goal of $100,000, will last 40 days, beginning June 1, 2013.  The funds will be used to expand the reach of BCI's connection with professional basketball players globally, providing these men with support needed so they can be the best role models, and influencers, to kids around the world.

We can reach and surpass this $100,000 goal with the help of everyone in the BCI family.  I am asking you to get involved by giving to our campaign and passing the opportunity on to your friends, family, and contacts on BCI's Behalf.  Please be watching for updates as we get closer to the launch date.

Crowdfunding works in two ways, and your help is needed.  As you get involved, the general public will see your passion and get on board.  It's a snowball effect!

In his book Step Up Your Game, completed only two short weeks before he passed away, Sharm shared with us his hope for BCI's future:  "I hope that, over the next 10 or 20 years, BCI becomes an indispensable part of the professional basketball machine.  We want a strong loop of players who support one another in a personal, meaningful way.  We want these heroes to inspire the younger generation to carry themselves at a level higher, perhaps, than the circumstances that produced them.  One NBA All-Pro asked a group of BCI players at a leadership summit. 'Can you imagine what an impact an organization like BCI could have worldwide?'  Well, I have, and that's why I put this ball in motion.  Now it's up to BCI, you and others like you, to take BCI to the next level."

We need your help to take full advantage of this opportunity.  Please contribute what you can during the campaign, and  consider endorsing us to your own sphere of influence.  If you or someone you know has social media savvy and would like to volunteer with BCI's social media campaign team to help spread the word, fill out our simple form and we will get you connected.

Thanks for staying connected to BCI's news, impact, and growth. BCI is ready.  You are ready.  I look forward to partnering with each of you as we turn BCI's future into BCI's present.

Looking up.

Kathy
