Jetstar kids fly free success

Tourism NT partnered with Jetstar in January for a four day campaign promoting Darwin packages that included kids flying free. The campaign recorded over 95,000 clicks to travelnt.com, while Jetstar received 38,457 clicks direct to the deals.

A TQUAL Information Session will be held in Darwin on Tuesday 6 March 2012. Applications for the 2012 TQUAL Grants close on 19 April 2012. The grants program provides up to $100,000 matched funding for tourism projects.

A new migration program for the Darwin region is expected to be in place in the first half of this year, to help employers fill skills and labour shortages associated with major projects. Guidelines on the application process for Australia’s first Regional Migration Agreement will be published by the end of March.

Inaugural Airnorth flight to Townsville

Darwin welcomed the inaugural Airnorth flight from Townsville on Friday 17 February offering an additional 152 seats a week into the NT. A crew from Prime Radio Townsville was aboard the flight and spent four days in Darwin creating travel content promoting Darwin holidays to the Townsville public.

A publication promoting Winter 2012 birding experiences has been well received in the UK. The quarterly publication developed by Tourism NT highlights the Red Centre Bird Festival and NT sponsorship of Bird Fair and is distributed to over 900 birding enthusiasts in the UK.
