Kindergarten eNews

Yee Haw!  It’s Cowboy Week!   We have been learning many things about the life of a cowboy.  We have learned why they wear certain clothes and how they take care of cows.  Next week we will continue to learn more about cowboys and cowgirls as we read fun books about them.

Next Week

  • Bible verse:  Psalm 50:10  “For every animal of the forest is Mine, and the cattle on a thousand hills.”
  • Bible:  Stories about Moses
  • Reading:  We have been reviewing sight words, letter sounds, blending short vowel words and reading simple readers that go along with our phonics lessons.  The books get progressively more difficult.  Students are doing a super job!
  • Math:  We are beginning to learn about the teen numbers and how to build them with tens and ones.  We are counting to 50 and sometimes beyond!
  • Show and Tell:  We will be sending home a half sheet of paper for students and their parents to design a family brand.  Cowboys used to brand their cattle with a letter or symbol that represented their family or ranch.  Be prepared to tell us what the brand means.
