Our First Anniversary Celebration

What a fabulous evening we had at The Feathered Nest on Saturday 25th June.

Our guests enjoyed the delightful sounds of Simply Jazz with some sultry notes from Laura, all made more delightful with glasses of Taittinger Champagne to start their evening.

Taittinger very kindly offered a superb prize for our raffle on the evening of a private balloon flight for two persons taking off from prestigious Bristol International Balloon Festival to be held in Ashton Park in August 2011.

Congratulations to Ann Ceprynski, one of our dining guests, for winning this prize and who also spent the night at The Inn!
We look forward to hearing about their experience!

The amount of £620 was raised on the evening for Kate’s Home Nursing, a local charity that offers assistance to those needing palliative care.

We would like to thank all our guests who supported us and gave so generously and Taittinger, our sponsor, for a wonderful prize, making this a memorable evening.

Staff News

The Feathered Nest is delighted to welcome two new staff members - Chef Peter Eaton, and Manager, Joss Roussanne, to our team.

The former Acorn award winner Peter Eaton was head chef at the Dorchester Collection's Coworth Park, and prior to this head chef, working with John Campbell, at the then two-Michelin-starred Vineyard at Stockcross.

Peter’s career path also includes the two-Michelin-starred Le Manoir aux Quat’ Saisons and the then one-Michelin-starred Homewood Park.

Joss Roussanne was formerly the F&B operations manager at Bovey castle and prior to this deputy restaurant manager at the one-Michelin-starred The Manor House Hotel in Castle Combe.

The Food

New Head Chef, Peter Eaton will be adding his special touch to new dishes, which will be added to our menu selection soon.

Lobster Season

The lobster season is now in full swing and here at The Nest, the chefs' have lobster specialities on offer.

 

The Pint

Oxfordshire Ales, Marshmellow (4.7% ABV) will be replacing UBU, from Purity Brewing Co by the end of the week.  Other real ales on tap are Ringwood's Boondoggle (4.2% ABV) (Blonde Ale) and Hook Norton Best Bitter (3.6% ABV). 

Peroni and Amstel lagers, extra-cold Guinness and Thatchers Gold Somerset Cider are all available on tap. 
Bottled beers - Brakspear Bitter, Corona, Budweiser, Beck's Blue (non-alcoholic lager) and
award-winning Windhoek Lager from Namibia, are available on the Bar.


The Pillow

All four of our individually decorated bedrooms, furnished with antiques and comfortable beds, provide our guests with modern facilities such as a flat screen TV, DVD player, tea & coffee making facility, hairdryer and wireless internet connection. Book for a night, Mid-week Break or Weekend package.
