2019 Summer Hours
Employees may access the campus from 6:00 am to 10:30 pm, seven days a week when the security system is disarmed. For more information, please see 6.6 After-Hours Campus Access in the Employee Handbook. Summer office hours are:

• Friday, June 28 - Office closed at 12:00 pm
• July and August - Office open 8:00 am to 4:00 pm (Campus locked by 4:30 pm)
• July 5, 12, 19, 26, August 2 - Office closed; ECE remains open for Kinder Camps
• Statutory Holidays (Office closed; Facilities team not on-site):
  • Monday, July 1 - Canada Day
  • Monday, August 5 - BC Day
  • Monday, September 2 - Labour Day

Wellness Survey
The CHS Wellness Program launched in January 2019 with the goal of making Crofton House a place that supports everyone’s health and wellbeing. CHS Year-End Garage Sale
If you would like to participate in the CHS Year-End Garage Sale by selling well-loved but no longer needed furniture, sports equipment and household items, please email Kim Hoffman at khoffman@croftonhouse.ca with details of what you would like to sell by Wednesday, June 19. The sale by silent auction will take place on Friday, June 21 from 8:00 am to 1:00 pm in the upper level of the parkade.

RSVP to the Year-End Staff Party
Deadline to RSVP to the Year-End Staff Party is tomorrow, June 18 by noon. The party will take place on Tuesday, June 25 at the Vancouver Lawn Tennis & Badminton Club starting at 5:30 pm. Please RSVP online and add any song requests for the DJ.

Community Dining Changes
Please note the following community dining changes for the remaining weeks of the school year:

• Monday, June 17 - Friday, June 21 - A cold-buffet lunch will be provided from 11:30 am to 1:55 pm in the Old Residence. Lunch is relocated due to exams in Manrell Hall.
• Monday, June 24 - Wednesday, June 26 - Lunch served from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm on the main floor of Manrell Hall. Wednesday is the final day lunch will be served.
• Coffee service is available in the Senior School staff room and the Old Residence throughout the summer.

Highlights

Students Speak with Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie



Thanks to Beth Carson, Teacher, English, Senior School, Grade 10 students had the rare and thrilling opportunity to chat with Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, an award-winning and internationally celebrated Nigerian writer, feminist, and scholar, about feminism, her writing, and her world views during a 20-minute Skype conversation on Wednesday, June 12. As part of the Grade 10 Literary Studies course, many students studied, discussed, and wrote about her book We Should All Be Feminists. During this conversation, Ms. Adichie stressed to students that “women matter.” She urged them to “champion causes that support gender equality,“ so that “we can live in a society that expects to same things of men and women.”

Lifestyle Spending Account Reimbursement
Don’t forget to remit your receipts by email to HR by noon on Friday, June 21 to receive your Lifestyle Spending Account (LSA) reimbursement on June 30. Otherwise, please remit your receipts by email to HR by noon on Thursday, August 15 for reimbursement on August 31. This will be our final deadline for the 2018-19 year.
