CPC Cuts the Ribbon on New Queens Community Center Designed to Serve Immigrant & Low-Income Communities

On March 24, 2017, CPC celebrated the opening of its brand new CPC Queens Community Center at 133-14 41st Avenue, Flushing, Queens with a ribbon cutting ceremony.  The Center houses community/social services, special needs services for families and individuals with developmental disabilities, a senior employment program, youth services, workforce training programs (including hospitality, customer service and adult literacy), legal services (including immigration and benefits counseling), a senior center, and an early childhood center which will open later this year.

Community Education Fair

The Community Education Fair on Saturday, April 1, 2017, will feature information on Gifted & Talented classes, how to fill out FAFSA forms, after-school and summer programs, extracurricular activities, youth internship programs, parenting workshops, Summer Youth Employment Program information, on-site ELL Level assessment and a SHSAT practice test. 

There will be education specialists on-site to assist with your child's needs. Particular attention will be given to on-site English Language Learner (ELL) Level assessments.

Recruitment for CPC Hospitality Careers Training Program & Foundations in Customer Service Begins

We are now accepting applications for:

• Hospitality Careers Training Program 
  The training program begins on April 8, 2017 and will run for eight weeks. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, have at least an eighth grade education level, have a high school diploma/GED/TASC or equivalent, eligible to work in the US, prior work experience in other industries, able to lift 50lbs and other physical duties and is able to work evenings, weekends and holidays.
• Foundations in Customer Service Training Program
  The training program begins on April 24, 2017 and will run for four weeks. Applicants must be at least 18 years old, must have at least high school education or equivalent, know how to use a computer and must possess excellent communication skills.  

Interested applicants must attend a CPC Workforce Development Information Session for necessary information and documents to apply. Dates are listed in "Upcoming CPC Events" above.
