Phil Hughes Commemorative Shirt Available Now!

Created to commemorate the life of Phil Hughes, this one-off playing shirt which was worn during WCCC’s pre-season tour of Abu Dhabi, amalgamates colours of teams Hughes played for, also incorporating key numbers relating to his career.

The left sleeve carries the gold and green of Australia with 408, Hughes’ Test number, embedded into the colours, while the right sleeve is made up of solid light blue with white stripes, deriving from his most recent stint in the T20 Big Bash with the Adelaide Strikers. Worcestershire’s green and black is found at the top and bottom of the front, with the Redbacks of South Australia aptly represented by a red back.

“P.Hughes 63 not out” is emblazoned below the Worcestershire crest and “475”, Hughes’ WCCC County colours number, is detailed above. On the bottom right of the shirt front is a block depicting “In celebration of Phillip Hughes 1988-2014 Worcestershire CCC 2012”, acknowledging the season Hughes played at New Road as Worcestershire’s overseas player.

A unique opportunity for supporters, the shirt is one of a number of things the Club has done to commemorate the life of Phil Hughes, including a commemorative stone on the 150th Anniversary Walk, and a contribution from every shirt will make up part of a donation to the Hughes family's chosen charity.
