Refugee Week is again approaching, and what better time to acknowledge and celebrate people who have made an exceptional positive contribution towards refugee issues in NSW.

The STARTTS Humanitarian Awards provide a chance to recognise the hard work and achievements of both individuals and organisations in various fields that play a substantial role in improving the lives of refugees.

"Ageing Slower, with Brain Power" - Dr John Arden

Dr John Arden is an international expert on the brain and mental health. Author of 13 books, he has also trained clinicians at STARTTS. Here he talks about how to age successfully, using the power of the brain and the SEEDS approach.

"If you plant SEEDS you will have good brain functioning. SEEDS is a mnemonic which stands for social connections, exercise, education, diet and sleep. These are fundamental for a healthy life and for ageing well..."
