Programmes for download

Printed programmes are expensive to produce and generally wasteful - since the economics of print runs mostly dictate ordering far more than are likely to be needed.  Even producing sheets as distributed last time presents a financial burden we can ill-afford.  Thirty years ago the only way to get information about music was to go to a specialist library but now that so much information is freely available via the internet, I believe that programme books are largely redundant.  By moving to online information distribution we can save resources - time and money - as well as producing less waste.  There is also potential to produce a wider range of concert-support material - such as links to artist websites or other items of interest.

For October 31st printed programmes will be available free again but in future all programmes will be available for free download from the website from one week before the performance and a small charge will be made for a printed copy.   If you would like to view and download the programme for October 31st please click here - and if you have any problems with this, please reply to this email with details or call the box office for help.
