Volunteer to Explore Your World
Sara Lefebvre, from Kingston ON, explores volunteering in Uganda

3.3 billion people – that’s half the population of the world – are at risk for malaria. That number stuck with high school student Sara.  So, she packed her bags and traveled to Uganda with her mother’s organization, Buy-a-Net. With a team of volunteers, she distributed malaria nets throughout small villages across Uganda. This journey was a life changing experience: one that has inspired Sara to follow in her mother’s footsteps in international development.

Watch Sara's story and the stories of many others who volunteer and expand their worlds on Getinvolved.ca.

Has volunteering changed your world?  Inspire others and share your story with the Getinvolved.ca community.  You might even end up on the next season of Getinvolved! on TVO. Email our Community Manager, Charlotte Kiddell, at charlottek@getinvolved.ca to get started.

One Last Thought
“If we could change ourselves, the tendencies in the world would also change. As a man changes his own nature, so does the attitude of the world change towards him."
