An international jury has awarded the Prix Bachelor Bongénie and the Prix Master Mercedes-Benz, and for the first time the Prix La Redoute x HEAD, that provides the winner with the opportunity to create a capsule collection for La Redoute for the summer of 2018. The jury was composed of  :

Serge Ruffieux (President of the jury), Creative Director of Carven
Stephen Jones, Creative Director of Stephen Jones Millinery
Sylvette Lepers, Head of Designers & Image Partnerships of La Redoute
Glenn Martens, Creative Director of Y/Project
Alice Pfeiffer, Editor in chief of Antidote
Mikael de Picciotto, Buying Director and e-commerce Manager for Bongénie Grieder
Séverine Saas, Fashion Director at Le Temps, as well as Luxury Dept for T Magazine

MIKAEL VILCHEZ, winner of the Prix Master Mercedes - Benz 2017, with CHF 10'000.- (fashion show film excerpt)
"The Mercedes Benz Price is awarded to someone that has been for the jury somewhat self-evident. His work, refined and stripped from clichés, conveyed in a self-deprecating manner, proposes an innovative vision of denim as well as menswear."
Serge Ruffieux (President of the jury), Creative Director of Carven

MIGUEL FILIPE MENDES SALVADOR, winner of the Prix Bachelor Bongénie 2017, with CHF 5'000.- (fashion show film excerpt)
"The jury was impressed by the richness of his universe as well as his expansive aesthetics that knowingly refrains from postcard folklore. His menswear collection proposes an object of rare craftsmanship that can be rendered into a wearable product, all the while exploring new materials and esthetical references of the most creative kind." Mikael de Picciotto, Head of purchasing and e-trading for the Bongénie Grieder group

FLORE GIRARD DE LANGLADE, winner of the new Prix La Redoute x HEAD, with the creation of a capsule collection (Summer 2018) (extrait du défilé)
"I was beguiled by Flore Girard de Langlade’s personality, a mixture of fragility and maturity. I loved her approach to classic pieces whom she skillfully restored to their former glory. I was touched by her attention to detail, her work with materials, her aesthetic concerns and finally her men’s apparel both sensual and feminine. With this price offering a young woman the possibility to create a ‘’capsule collection’’, la Redoute rewards creativity and modernity." Sylvette Lepers, Head of Partnerships Créateurs & Image for La Redoute

Over 10 years, HEAD - Genève's Fashion Design programme has become one of the most highly-coveted fashion programmes in the world. Early November, Business of Fashion released its 2017 world ranking of the best fashion schools and HEAD has made further progress. It ranks 5th at the European level, in terms of global influence, and its Master's degree programme is in the top 10 schools in continental Europe.

The Défilé HEAD 2017 was supported by Mercedes-Benz which has been our main partner for several years, as well as Chloé, Richemont, and Bongénie. This year we welcome a new partner, La Redoute, who will commission one of our young graduates to produce a capsule collection for the summer of 2018 through its La Redoute x HEAD Prize. We would also like to thank our professional partners, Le Bal des Créateurs, the brand R+Co distributed by RG Luxury, our make-up partner MAC Cosmetics, our five-star hotel partner Hotel Metropole, our four-star hotel partner Hotel Cornavin, Lavinia, Laurent Perrier, Givaudan, Skynight, Favarger Chocolates, as well as our media partners Boléro, Novembre, One FM and Léman Bleu.

The fashion show will be broadcasted on Léman Bleu on Saturday 18 November at 20h and on Sunday 19 November at 17h.
