Did you know? The Vaccination Status Reporting Regulation is now in effect
The Government of BC has enacted the Vaccination Status Reporting Regulation requiring parents or guardians to report the vaccination status of their school-age children. In compliance with this regulation, and with the consent provided by parents in the annual Student Information Forms, Crofton House School is sharing basic demographic information of students with Vancouver Coastal Health. For more information about the regulation, and your obligation to keep immunization records up to date, visit the BC Ministry of Health information

Grade 8/9 Performance: Hoodie Tickets On Sale
Join Grade 8 and 9 students in the The Susan and Robert Macdonald Family Drama Studio Theatre for their annual theatre performance on Thursday, November 28 and Friday, November 29. Hoodie is a student-driven ensemble vignette play featuring Grade 8 and 9 student actors and designers with contributions in directing, lighting, and sound from students in Grades 8 to 12. This play, written by Canadian Playwright Lindsay Price, examines self-image and identity and how that translates into what we wear each day and why. Students face a daily tornado of questions such as "What should I wear?, What if I wear the wrong thing?, What is she wearing? and, What do I look like?." This is sure to be an entertaining and thought-provoking
performance!
Tickets are now on sale for $10. Four tickets are available per family. The tickets can be used at one performance or split between two performances. Purchase your tickets.
Crofton House Employee Gift Policy
Crofton House parents and students often thank CHS employees for their contributions through gifts. To help avoid a real, potential or perceived conflict of interest for the employee and the School, CHS employees can only accept gifts as outlined in the Gift Acceptance Policy, section 3.3 of the CHS Employee Handbook. If you are giving a gift to an employee, we would ask that you ensure it is reasonable in nature and of a value less than $125, and that you understand that if an employee refuses or returns a gift, it is simply that they are following the School's policy. If you have any questions, please contact Sarah Robinson, Director,
Human Resources at srobinson@croftonhouse.ca.

CHS 2019 Artist in Residence: Mariana Frochtengarten
CHS extends a warm welcome to Mariana Frochtengarten, the Artist in Residence for 2019-2020. Mariana is an independent textile artist and teacher with over twenty years of experience practicing and researching traditional and non-traditional manual dyeing and printing techniques, and equal years of experience teaching children, youth and adults in the textile field. Through Ms Frochtengarten’s strong belief that “textile based practices can be used to develop personal skills and individual forms of expression”, students will develop a new way to express themselves creatively and individually. Further, through engagement in her work, the whole community will find new ways to connect. As she remarked: “textile-based practices have the ability to strengthen social
bonds and the sense of community”. Read blog and view photos.
