Issue 3

With so many beautiful, trendy canvas backpacks around, this bag from Incase may seem unremarkable, but for me it's the perfect compromise between practicality and good looks. I bought one 5 years ago, use it almost daily and it's never let me down. If you are after a reliable, durable and surprisingly compact backpack, this one deserves a second look.

I love my standing desk because it helped me overcome my RSI problems. What I don't like is how clunky they usually are. The X table is a very elegant alternative that replaces the heavy engine with a simple winder mechanism. Designed in Denmark (and therefore not cheap), it's unclear whether they ship internationally.

I have to admit, I'm not feeling excited about any of the tech giants' wearable gear so far. I miss the ingenuity and craftsmanship of traditional watchmaking. This beautiful, minimal smartwatch from Withings tracks your activity and sleeping patterns without making you look like the biggest geek in the room.

I know few people that actually enjoy filling out online surveys. Typeform managed to create a beautiful interface that makes creating and responding to surveys a breeze. I'll be using it myself for an upcoming Offscreen survey, and it's been fun putting together the questionaire.

What I love most about Simplenote is its simplicty. It's essentially just a list of text files, but with powerful syncing: I jot down notes on the iPhone app and within seconds they appear in my browser. I use it for idea generation, shared packing lists, proof-reading blog posts on the go, and much more.

It's difficult to make time for quiet moments during our busy days. Headspace is an app/service that extends well beyond reminding us to take a break. It's a thoughtfully executed meditation course and exercise program for your mind. And its beautiful illustrations will also put your eyes at ease. :)
