CPC was recently welcomed to Brooklyn Community Foundation’s Immigrant Rights Fund and awarded a $20,000 grant to support Advancing Our CommUNITY, CPC’s campaign to promote social and economic empowerment of Asian American, immigrant, and low-income communities. CPC Joins 10th Annual APA City Advocacy Day Despite the gloomy weather on April 25, 2018, and in the midst of the nation’s anti-immigrant climate, CPC joined forces with over 45 Asian led and Asian-serving organizations for the Coalition for Asian American Children & Families’ 10th Annual Asian Pacific American (APA) City Advocacy Day. About 300 impassioned community members, services providers, advocates, and elected allies partook in the event.
On April 17, 2018, CPC attended the 2018 FPWA Program Awards Breakfast. Accepting the $20,000 grant on behalf of CPC were Wayne Ho, President & CEO; Kim To, Chief Development Officer; and Brian Chen, Director of Education & Career Services.
The Advancing Justice Conference is the largest national conference focusing on civil rights and social justice issues as they affect Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI). The three days of programming included panel discussions, caucus sessions, skills and capacity building, networking, and legislative visits.
On April 26, 2018, the Trump Administration announced termination of Temporary Protected Status (TPS) for Nepal. The termination will take effect June 24, 2019.
