International Student Support PackageTo support our international student community residing in South Australia and facing financial hardship the State Government has announced a new $13.8 million International Student Support Package. Its for Students that choose to live in Adelaide this in part of reaffirming our welcome and the wonderful aspects that student contribute to our community. Job Keeper- Key DatesThe $130b “JobKeeper” wage subsidy is a flat $1,500 fortnightly payment to all businesses significantly affected by COVID-19 to retain their employees and provide a cushion for the economy. This is a significant lifeline for businesses, however you need to be aware of key dates and processes. The payments will be made monthly in arrears from 1 May 2020 to cover fortnightly periods commencing 30 March 2020 and ending on 27 September 2020. Key dates From 20 April: enrol for JobKeeper payment. If you need more time, you have until the end of May to enrol and identify your employees. Note: Employees must have been in your employment on 1 March 2020, and must continue to be employed while you are claiming the JobKeeper subsidy. This extends to employees who have been stood down or re-hired. See here for other eligibility criteria. The JobKeeper subsidy will be administered by the ATO on a self-assessment basis.
