ENSURING A STRONG RECOVERY FOR ALL SECTORS

Reflecting on the past year, it is heartening to see the resilience of the publishing industry. As you will see in the following post by Maverick’s Jeremy Brinton, the overall health of the industry remained remarkably strong in 2020. With exceptions in some sectors, sales and revenues were generally maintained or even increased, and publishers exhibited their ability to adapt to the changing needs imposed by remote learning, meetings, and work.

These changes have spurred a rapid digital transformation, not only for products but also for services. Learning and other interactions have transitioned from face-to-face encounters to increasingly sophisticated online venues. Maverick is supporting the transition with the publication of blogs and videos to help publishers stay up-to-date on industry trends.

As we head into the second half of 2021, some societies and associations continue to struggle with these challenges. Emphasis is increasingly placed on the importance of data—in driving decisions, serving science, and complying with funding mandates. Maverick understands societies and associations, and offers programs and services directed to their unique needs. We are committed to helping clients manage these and other emerging areas so that every sector of our industry is as strong and prosperous as possible.

One year later, we have a complete picture of 2020 and, with a few exceptions, the UK publishing industry fared extremely well in the face of massive disruption… Continue reading the complete post
