Nominate a deserving student for Student Ambassador

Ambassadors posing on library steps

Staff and faculty are invited to nominate students for the 2014/15 Student Ambassador Program. Consider students who represent varying age groups, ethnic backgrounds, interests and departments.

Ambassadors fulfill several important roles on campus, including:

  • Representing WSU Vancouver at recruitment and department events
  • Leading campus tours with prospective students, families and guests
  • Mentoring and guiding new students through orientation
  • Developing opportunities to connect with the community through service projects

Ambassador nominees must:

  • Anticipate a graduation date of May 2015 or later
  • Be enthusiastic about WSU Vancouver
  • Possess the skills and demeanor to serve as the face of the university

Making a nomination is easy. Just send the nominee’s name and major to Anthony Deringer by end of day Dec. 13. You are welcome to nominate more than one student.

Inclement weather reminders

Heavy snow on campus

When snow falls or ice blankets our streets, Facilities Operations closes the 50th Avenue entrance to campus. Closing the entrance allows our small snow-removal crew to concentrate on the main entrance, parking lots and sidewalks. Remember WSU Vancouver is responsible for plowing and deicing campus roads only. The county is responsible for surrounding roadways.

If plowing and/or deicing is in progress when you arrive on campus, certain parking lots and pathways may be closed. In that case, please park in open, plowed parking lots—regardless of parking permit type—and use pathways that are plowed and deiced.
