Learning and development for today's leaders and managers

As a manager at the University of Exeter you are expected manage your own development as well as to support the development of members of your team.

For the last two years the University’s Human Resources team has been working with the Institute of Leadership and Management’s (ILM) framework to develop a new range of programmes and courses to support leaders and managers at all levels of the organisation.

The ILM use the UK-wide Qualifications and Credit Framework to assign levels to learning and development opportunities.  We have mapped these levels onto the University's job grades to allow you to see what is most appropriate for your job now, or what is needed to help you progress.

Find out more about the ILM framework, our leadership and management courses and how we can help you in your professional development

The role of the new technologies in teaching and learning is an increasingly important one. The e-learning unit within Education Enhancement is in the process of developing a Certificate in Technology Enhanced Learning (CertTEL) that academics and administrators will be invited to complete. The Certificate will provide basic skills in the use of technologies in the lecture theatre and classroom as well as online tutoring.

Find out more about CertTEL

Staff within Education Enhancement and the Library will be running a series of ‘You teach’ sessions that can be attended by any member of staff who are interested in the CertTEL or would simply like to improve their TEL skills.
