Out In Schools team travels in style... with Modo!

out in schools... with modo

School’s out for summer but the folks at Out In Schools are still plugging away. Out In Schools travels to schools throughout BC, conducting workshops where discussions about homophobia and bullying are facilitated through film. With greater understanding around these issues, Out In Schools directly addresses safety in our classrooms.

For the past two years, Modo has been the transportation partner for Out In Schools. Using our vehicles, teams are able to get to schools all around the province to present films and engage students. Last year, more than 100 workshop presentations were delivered to over 8000 high school students across BC. We’re really proud to be able to support such a group of pioneers! Facebook Like Button

summer festivities + parking shortages

Metro Vancouver is full of fun activities in the summer to get us out enjoying our neighbourhoods. This will often lead to parking congestion and streets with temporary parking restrictions. If you cannot return a Modo vehicle to its usual location, please make note of the exact street address that the vehicle is closest to and call our office so that we can alert the next member using the vehicle. This kind of phone call is considered ‘urgent’ so feel free to press ‘6’ when you hear our greeting message.

Because of possible temporary location changes, please always carefully review your booking confirmation email to confirm the location of your booked vehicle. And check your voice messages too – there might be one from Modo informing you of a very recent change.

always call Modo if you cannot return the vehicle to its usual location due to parking restrictions at that location

mobile site

The Modo mobile site is simple to use for making bookings on the go. Any time you log in to Engage from a smart phone, you should be taken to the mobile version of our site.

Did you know the Vehicle Notes tab is accessible when you’re viewing a current booking? The tab is a great place to provide notes you’d like to pass on to Modo staff, such as a need to replenish cleaning or other supplies. Our staff review notes on a routine basis each day; please phone us instead if you have something urgent to report.

pets must be transported in carriers

Furry friends (pets) are welcome in Modo vehicles* when they are transported in carriers at all times. Bringing Fido to the beach is all right as long as the vehicle is returned clean enough that the next member using the vehicle wouldn’t suspect Fido was there in the first place – all animal hair, nose smudges, paw prints, animal smells, etc, should be cleaned away.

Remember that when you clean up after your pet, you can still submit your cleaning receipts to Modo for reimbursement. Visit our Carsharing Handbook for refreshers on how to carshare with Modo.

*Pets are never allowed in vehicles marked ‘allergy-free’.

carsharing photo contest

There’s still almost a week to submit your day trip carsharing photo to TravelSmart’s Day Trip Photo Contest. We know our members are going on Modo adventures all around the province (and heck, all around North America) so submit your pictures for a chance at some great prizes including Modo carsharing credit!
