Welcome to the November newsletter

Dear

Campus has certainly been buzzing in the last month, and we are so proud that so many alumni have been at the forefront of so many activities and events. We had another incredible line-up of guest speakers for Journalism and Media Week 2022, including the alumni panel pictured above. A very big thank you to all those who returned to inspire our current students and show them what is possible.

We now eagerly await our winter graduation ceremonies taking place on 13 and 14 December, to celebrate the achievements of our most recent graduates.

As you no doubt saw through our recent e-shot, the University is also set to establish a city centre location at 1 Trevelyan Square, Leeds, to complement our campus in Horsforth as part of our strategy for growth. Subject to planning approval, it is anticipated that new students will use the facility during the 2024/25 Academic Year.

We are also proud to make the Andrew Kean Learning Centre available to members of the local community as a Warm Space, in order to support those who may be struggling with the cost of living. Read more.

Trinity Alumni Business Network

We are very much looking forward to the Trinity Alumni Business Network event, Making an Impact at Every Stage, on Thursday 8 December. We will be welcoming guests from 6.15 pm in the conference suite for a mulled wine reception. We'll also be providing sandwiches and nibbles.

We have three exceptional alumni who will be talking about their careers and sharing their top tips:
Tim Hodgson – Director | Westcourt Group Ltd
Natalya Stecko – Digital Marketing Executive | Stada Media
Zee Faridi – Director | Ezmuve Award-winning Estate Agents

This will be a great chance to network with fellow alumni and students as well as catch up with business lecturers. Book your place.

University Carol Service

We hope you can join us for a festive evening of candlelit carols, readings and reflections as we celebrate our annual Leeds Trinity University Carol Service on Monday 5 December at 7.00pm in the Leeds Trinity University Chapel.

There will be performances from the Leeds Trinity University Chapel Choir and Mount St Mary’s Catholic High School, and the service will be followed by complimentary mulled wine and mince pies in the Atrium. If you haven't confirmed your attendance yet, please email us and we will add you to the guestlist.

Opportunity for primary teachers

Leeds Trinity is looking to involve Primary Education graduates in our interview days in 2023.

Our Primary Education team would love to utilise your experience and support, and have you as part of our student interview process.

These are paid opportunities and you will be classed as Visiting Lecturers. If you would like to find out more and the dates of the interviews, please email us.

Alumni versus students sports

October saw a number of alumni versus students sports matches return to the calendar. Thank you to all who participated on the day, it was brilliant to welcome many of you back. We look forward to supporting clubs with organising more fixtures in the future. More images.

Winter competition

Would you like a chance to win a stash of Leeds Trinity goodies from our merchandise range?

We are hosting a photo competition again this year, where all you have to do is send us either a winter picture from your time at Leeds Trinity or a recent one wearing or showing something Leeds Trinity related. Please email us your entries by 5.00pm on Friday 16 December.

Featured alumni – Alina Tasadaq

Alina Tasadaq graduated from Media in 2018. By September 2018, she was back on campus, working as a Student Liaison Officer. Alina was able to utilise her student experience and the community feel to support other students in the future.

"From the offset I could see how everyone genuinely cared – and after studying here for three years I really felt like I was part of the family."

Now a Team Leader, Alina also utilises her media skills every day in her role to ensure students are aware of opportunities, support and events:

"In my role at Leeds Trinity, I was instantly able to demonstrate effective communications and produce posters to both inform and stimulate engagement."
