When children and young people feel connected to others, experience safe and trusting relationships and feel included and respected, they develop protective factors essential to their ongoing wellbeing and development. Every child has the right to learn in communities that promote student wellbeing so they can thrive and reach their full potential in learning and in life. If you’re planning for the 2019 school year, why not begin by visiting the Student Wellbeing Hub to find out more about the Australian Student Wellbeing Framework, the Australian Government’s nationally endorsed reference point for the safety and wellbeing of every student in every school. Here, educators, pre-service teachers, parents and students can explore the Framework’s key elements and principles for whole school safety and wellbeing. On the Hub you’ll also discover free resources, including professional learning modules, to engage school communities and support the uptake of the Framework in individual school contexts across Australia. Why not take a look at an overview of the new Framework in this short video? Visit our Facebook page and sign up through the Hub to receive newsletters for more updates.
