In 1988, a young family began an adventure of a lifetime when they decided to leave family, home and friends to serve fulltime in mission endeavors. As children became adults, left the nest and began their own families, Chuck & Sue Duby set out on yet another journey when they agreed to join Hope Force International (HFI) in 2006. HFI was a fledgling new ministry, dedicated to responding to the needs of people affected by crisis and disaster worldwide. Chuck & Sue’s arrival brought a fresh sense of excitement and encouragement at just the right time.

Now after 31 years of ministry, the Duby’s have decided to retire from fulltime service. Their contribution into HFI is inestimable. They have impacted the lives of countless Reservists, staff, volunteers, ministry partners and survivors.  Their investment will continue to bear fruit...long after their departure.

Please join us in praying for God’s richest blessing, provision and direction for this new and exciting season for them. The journey of a Jesus-follower continues until we see Him face-to-face. Enjoy the rest of the trip, dear friends!

As Chuck and Sue vacate their positions as HFI's Senior Chaplain and Training Coordinator, we are delighted to announce their replacements:

John VanTiem is the new Hope Force International Senior Chaplain. Many of you already know John and Cindy VanTiem from multiple deployments through the past ten years. They have proven themselves to be willing and capable servant leaders; ready to do any job that needs doing.  John has served as lead Chaplain on many deployments – filling a vital leadership role, and he was our first choice for the job.  We are truly grateful for John’s willingness to serve in this capacity!  Cindy will, as in the past, accompany John as much as possible.

Carol Jones is the new Hope Force International Training Coordinator. We worked with Carol for several years during our time with Mercy Ships. She has extensive executive administrative experience, and possesses wonderful people skills and shares our values – love God...love people. Carol is an HFI Reservist living in Canada. This, along with our team in Mexico, gives HFI a presence throughout North America. We are honored to welcome Carol as part of the HFI staff team!
