THE CLIENT
The University of Chichester can trace it's origins back to 1839 and was one of the first universities in the UK to actively teach the subject of sports science. With a strong emphasis on applied learning, many leading sports scientists such as Professor Tudor Hale have paved the way for the University to become globally recognised as a hub for teaching, professional athlete development, academic research and commerical consultancy.
In addition to this work, the University is also the official supplier of performance analysis to Skandia Team GBR, the UK's Olympic sailing team and has supported a broad variety of British sports teams for the past five Olympic games.
The University of Chichester's world class facilities and expertise has led them to broaden their horizons into the world of TV where they have worked with globally recognised athletes such as Cristiano Ronaldo, bringing the benefits of Biomechanics and sports science to a much wider audience. |
THE CHALLENGE
As a unique specialist sports marketing agency, the University of Chichester chose Brandwave to help them develop a new brand movie based on their brand strap line "Sport is our business".
The University was keen to ensure that the new movie worked as a template for all future multimedia material.
In addition to the University's internationally recognised teaching credentials, they also wanted to communicate how they worked with professional athletes to enhance their sporting performance.
The University aimed to effectively communicate the breadth of sport-related research as well as how they could develop long standing working relationships with sports brands through relevant research and development projects. |
THE RESULT
The Brandwave team developed a unique storyboard for the new movie, expanding on the University's corporate strap line "Sport is our business". The storyboard focused on the unique heritage of the University and gave a broad overview of the facilities and expertise available.
The Brandwave team also managed to team up with Olympic Gold medalist, Pippa Wilson who is currently studying at the University. Pippa was able to give a unique insight into how the University worked with athletes at the highest level. Once filming and post production had been completed, the new departmental movie premiered at the 2012 international pre-Olympic and Paralympic convention, ICSEMIS, in Glasgow. |
