Click here Dear subscriber, With less than four months' to go until the end of the Brexit transition period, food businesses need to make sure that they are ready for the changes Brexit will bring from 1 January 2021. The FSAI Brexit website was relaunched this week to help food businesses prepare for 1 January 2021. Visit www.fsai.ie/Brexit for information on the requirements for importing food, and for placing imported food on the Irish market. Brexit - Are you ready?This week, the Government published its updated Brexit Readiness Action Plan. It supports and promotes the necessary preparations for the changes that will arise at the end of the Brexit transition period. The Brexit Readiness Action Plan sets out the steps that businesses and individuals need to take now. The plan can be downloaded from gov.ie/brexit. From the 1 January the UK will no longer apply the rules of the Single Market and Customs Union. This means that moving goods from, to or through Great Britain will be subject to customs formalities and other regulatory requirements. Regardless of the outcome of the ongoing EU-UK negotiations, these changes will not apply to trade in goods between Ireland and Northern Ireland because of the Protocol on Ireland and Northern Ireland.
