MAKE A PLAN TO VOTE! ELECTION DAY IS NOVEMBER 2ND AND EARLY VOTING IS ALL WEEK LONG

Early voting in New York is from Saturday, October 23rd and ends Sunday, October 31st. Election day is Tuesday, November 2nd. We urge you to make a plan to vote and make your voice heard in this critical election. A voting plan is critical to ensuring that you can vote safely during COVID-19 and get your vote counted early! 

In addition to important local elections for Mayor, Comptroller, Public Advocate, and City Council, we'll also be voting on five important ballot questions which propose to amend the New York State Constitution. These proposals cover important issues such as reforming the redistricting process, environmental justice, voting reforms to make it easier for everyday people to participate in the civic process. KEY DATES:

• October 23rd - October 31st: Early Voting - Find your early voting polling place at voting.nyc.

• November 1st: Last day to apply for an absentee ballot in-person at your local county board of elections office. 

• November 2nd: Election Day (6am-9pm). Find your Election Day polling place at voting.nyc. Last day to mail in your absentee ballot or deliver your absentee ballot in person to your borough’s Board of Elections office.

KNOW YOUR RIGHTS:

In any election, you have a right to be assisted by any person of your choice (except your employer or union representative), including a trained poll worker, if you need help to vote.

• If you need an interpreter, interpreters are available to assist voters at selected sites.

• The New York City Board of Elections provides language assistance in Spanish, Chinese, Korean, Bengali, Punjabi, or Hindi at select City poll sites. Call 866-VOTE-NYCfor information about which poll sites have language assistance available and for which languages.

• The NYC Civic Engagement Commission (NYCEC) provides language assistance in Arabic, Bengali, Chinese (Cantonese, Mandarin), French, Haitian Creole, Italian, Korean, Polish, Russian, Urdu, and Yiddish at selected poll sites on Saturday, October 30, Sunday, October 31st, and Tuesday, November 2nd, 2021. VOTE SAFELY DURING COVID-19:

If voting in person, follow simple precautions to protect yourself and others from COVID-19:

• Wear a face covering: face coverings are required to enter all polling sites. Protect those around you and wear a face covering correctly (over your nose and mouth).

• Practice physical distancing: polling sites will be set up to enforce social distancing. Follow instructions and stay at least 6 feet away from others while at your polling site.

• Practice healthy hand hygiene: polling sites will provide hand sanitizer, and you can also bring your own. Use hand sanitizer before and after touching any shared surfaces and wash your hands with soap and water immediately after you get home. Avoid touching your face with unwashed hands.

• Stay home if you are sick: voting is important, but it’s more important that you get better before you leave your home and that you take actions to help prevent others from getting sick.
