Hi there,

As a nation we like to hold ourselves up as being ahead of the pack when it comes to innovation and embracing technology. A new survey of top Kiwi digital leaders, however, suggests that perhaps we’re not quite where we think we are.

The Tuanz 2021 Digital Priorities report, supported by NZ TechLeaders and Vodafone, provides a look at what is concerning New Zealand’s digital leaders and where their priorities lie in the coming year. There aren’t any big surprises in the priorities – the future of work, supporting digitalisation, cybersecurity, digital skills, data, and access and inclusion for all – but the report itself provides something of a reality check, with several leaders noting that transformation at the core – as opposed to just ‘cherry-picking’ shiny bits’ – remains a challenge for many.

The gist of the report? There’s still a lot of basic foundation work that needs to be done before New Zealand can claim a spot as one of the top 10 digital ready countries.

So, who’s up for the challenge?

Enjoy the read,
