NOT as Seen on TV: The REAL CSI

Inline

The CCPS Undergraduate Advising Center is pleased to offer this popular program again this year. Students will be able to interact with a panel of forensic and investigative experts as they walk through how a criminal investigation is handled, share their experience, and help set the story straight...that it's NOT as seen on TV. Panelists include Capt. Jeff Hertel, Grand Rapids Police Department; Dawn TenBrink, Kent County Scientific Support Unit; Paul Davison, Kent County Medical Examiner's Office, and David Hayhurst, Forensic Scientist - Michigan State Police. After the panel presentation, students will have an opportunity to ask questions of the panelists to learn more about the career field and how they can best prepare during their college experience. This program is open to all majors, but RSVPs are requested. MORE INFORMATION

Community Leadership Scholarship

Inline

Leadership for community and economic development results from education, experience and a commitment to work toward a vision.  The Community Leadership Scholarship seeks to support and honor Grand Valley State University students who have demonstrated their willingness to combine community service with the pursuit of their professional vocations through a one-time scholarship.  The amount of this award will vary between $1,500 and $2,500 based on the quality of the applicants and the earnings on the fund. The award supports those students who pursue entrepreneurism to improve quality of life.  This scholarship benefits students who major in any field, with a preference for those who major in business or public and nonprofit administration.  The scholarship was established by the founding members of the Grand Valley University Foundation Leadership Committee, who seek to advance new generations of business leaders and community philanthropists. GVSU Scholarship Database

Inline

Students are often looking for ways to off set their college expenses and asking about how to find scholarships. GVSU's financial aid office has created a searchable database to look for GVSU merit-based scholarships. A student may search for specific scholarships for which they may be eligible, based on class standing, GPA, major discipline, or other unique characteristics. With just a few clicks a student may be able to find funding they can apply for. There is also a link to other external scholarship databases for additional sources of funding. These are great tools to help students! MORE INFORMATION
