4th Grade eNews

This newsletter covers Thanksgiving week and the following week.  We will not send a newsletter next week.  We hope you enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday! We are thankful for you and your family!

Reminders

Academics

  • Bible: This week we will be studying how Jesus was fully God, yet fully man.
  • Verse: John 1:1,14 “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God… The Word became flesh and took up residence among us. We observed His glory, the glory as the One and Only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.”  
  • Spelling: Unit 14 (or words): forgot, forest, sport, port, sort, record, forth, report, forty, export, distort, morsel, florist, moral, organic, word, worth, worm work, world
  • Language: Finish our expository writing and begin chapter 6: interjections and possessive nouns
  • Math: Understanding and applying properties of multiplication and division
  • Social Studies: Continuing our study of Ch. 4- American Independence 
  • Science: Test Monday, Nov. 19. Begin our study of the Water Cycle after Thanksgiving Break.
  • Reading – Continuing our study of Theme by reading Charlotte’s Web.

Important Dates

  • November 19 - Class Wars: 4th grade wears neon clothing!
  • November 20 - Spirit Dress for everyone
  • November 21- 23 - Thanksgiving Break
  • December 4 - All School Christmas Chapel
  • December 5 - Class Pictures
  • December 6 - Geography and Spelling Bees
  • December 11 - PJ Day (bring $1)
  • December 18 - Class Christmas Parties at 12:15 with early dismissal
