Reach Out Pro - News from the sector

Tuesday 17 January, 2012

ReachOut Pro has hit January with a bang this new year, with several new resources for professionals launched on site just this week! The first recordings from out pilot webinars are now available on the ReachOutPro.com.au site, with speakers and discussion from our first webinar delivered to Headspace staff in Dec 2011. Listen to experts from the sector speak about the evidence for using technology to support young people, and the ethical challenges we need to overcome.

Online spaces, websites, and the way people use them changes incredibly fast - and with each new space, tool and app, come new behaviours and communities. A key part of supporting young people and helping them to stay safe online is understanding what it is that they do, and what it means to them to be online.

To help you stay up to date, we've refreshed the Using Technology section on ReachOutPro.com.au with a new guide to Trends in Online Behaviour, as well as additional information on the ways that young people seek help online.

New easy-guide to social network privacy + safety features

With all the social networks out there, it's tough helping young people to understand the different privacy and safety features of each service they use.

This month, the Australian Government launched a new online resource, with information direct from 26 of the top social networking sites, search engines and online games on how to manage their privacy settings, and on how to report abuse, cyberbullying and inappropriate content.
