Are your employees required to lift heavy objects? Are any of them overweight? Do any smoke or have chronic lung disease? Any of these factors may make them prone to developing a hernia - one of the most common conditions requiring surgery and time off work.

Lifting Assessments

Work Health Options offers a variety of assessments to gauge your prospective employees’ ability to lift and move. We can also educate on proper body mechanics, stretching and strengthening. By doing these assessments you can get a general idea of where your prospective employees’ ability is and possibly identify poor habits that can cause severe and costly injuries. Some of the injuries that can be avoided are back, neck, muscle and hernias.

Home Safety Month

Driving your vehicle at highway speeds with windows open or the top down exposes all people in the vehicle to noise levels at about 105dB. Motorcycles can be loud, but it's the wind that we tend to forget about. Wearing a helmet can only reduce exposure by an average of 3dB. As we move out into our summer routines we take for granted the things that generate noise.

  • Lawn mowers (88-94dB)
  • Chain saws (100dB)
  • Weed whackers (94-96dB)
  • Circular saw (100-104 dB)
  • Gun shot (140dB-160dB)
