Florida Legislature Ends Session on Friday
The Florida Legislature will end its 2013 Session on Friday, May 3rd. There are still a few issues that may need our attention:
HB 1355 passed today and is on the Governor's desk. Please take a few minutes and read the information: http://www.libertyfederation.com/blog/urge-fl-governor-scott-veto-anti-gun-bill and then make a phone call if you think it is needed!
HB 87 and SB 1666. Mortgage Foreclosures STOP WORKING FOR THE BANKERS AND WORK FOR THE PEOPLE OF FL. This is a very bad bill. It will strip homeowners from their constitutional due process rights and let lenders foreclose without having to prove they are the holders of the note and mortgage. Many lenders are under investigation for fraudulent paperwork, and with this bill, if after the foreclosure and proof comes out they were fraudulent, the homeowner cannot get their home back. Homeowners could still be sued from the actual holders of the note and mortgage later, this bill will create huge chaos in the real estate market as well. Go to
www.flsenate.gov and www.myfloridahouse.gov to track these bills.

Boy Scouts Propose Unworkable Homosexual Policy
The Boy Scouts of America (BSA) are considering caving in to the LGBT activist pressure and potentially exposing the troops to openly practicing homosexuals.
Proposing a badly misguided “compromise,” Scouting executives would allow openly practicing homosexuals into the ranks of the BSA – just not as leaders. Homosexuals over the age of 18 would be prohibited from participation under the new proposal.
The Boy Scouts of America’s (BSA) executive leadership and its Board of Directors are under extreme pressure from LGBT activists, equivocating board members, and pro-homosexual organizations threatening withdrawal of their funding.
Radicals appear willing to do whatever is necessary to force the Scouts to change their decades-old policy of banning openly practicing homosexuals from participating in the Scouting program. Report Your Neighbor Program
"Florida House and Senate budget leaders have awarded Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw $1 million for a new violence prevention unit aimed at preventing tragedies like those in Newtown, Conn., and Aurora, Colo., from occurring on his turf.
Bradshaw plans to use the extra $1 million to launch “prevention intervention” units featuring specially trained deputies, mental health professionals and caseworkers. The teams will respond to citizen phone calls to a 24-hour hotline with a knock on the door and a referral to services, if needed.
