Scholarship Deadline Approaching


The application window for submitting Foundation scholarship applications is quickly coming to an end. The deadline for submissions is April 15, 2016 - a mere month away.

Two scholarships of $1,500 each will be awarded to assist qualified individuals in their pursuit of continuing education. Prospective applicants should carefully read the guidelines and procedures and provide the necessary information on the appropriate application forms. Palm Beach Gardens Police Department Annual Awards Ceremony

The Police Foundation was pleased to sponsor the Palm Beach Gardens Police Department's Annual Awards Ceremony on March 3, 2016.

With an audience of more than 150 guests, Chief Stephen Stepp officiated over the Ceremony and presented plaques and certificates in more than 10 different categories.

After reviewing the various Quarterly Awards, Chief Stepp, with the assistance of Major Paul Rogers presented the 2015 Annual Awards as follows:

  • Police Officer of the Year – Sergeant Eduardo Guillen
  • Police Investigator of the Year – Officer Ellen Lovejoy
  • Civilian of the Year – Crime Scene Investigator Dawn Watkins
  • Volunteer of the Year – CMP Sergeant William Sabine

A special presentation was also made by American Legion Post 371 Commander Bill Doherty to Officer Lovejoy for her outstanding Police Service to the Community.

Nine Officers and two local civilians also received Lifesaving Awards for their actions throughout the year:

  • Officer Victor Rosado
  • Officer Robert Christophers
  • Officer Robert Boshen
  • Officer Billy Bunch &
    Ms. Jean Williams
  • Officer Mitchel Connerton
  • Officer Richard Pearce

    Mr. Clayton Merritt

The Police Foundation congratulates all of the 2015 award winners and thanks them for their outstanding service to the City of Palm Beach Gardens.
