Q: Why does my shower run cold or cut out?

A: Most of the time, the problem stems back to lime scale on the showerhead. So my tip is to clean out your showerhead regularly and pick out the holes with a needle.

Q: Is waste water running out of the shower area on a tray former (flush floor) after it has worked for a number of months?

A: Like any trap, it needs to be cleaned out at least twice a year to remove hairs/gel that starts to block the outlet, which in turn slows the water down thus flooding the tray? Remove 2 screws from the top of the gully and lift out shower trap to clean refit in reverse.

Health and Safety Training Day - by Angie Emery

January has been another busy month for DSL.

On the 19th January we held a Health & Safety Training Day for both Sittingbourne and Farnborough branches.

Areas covered were:

Asbestos Awareness
Working at Heights
Manuel Handling, and more.

We also decided that as all our fitters and electricians are lone workers, that it would be prudent to have them all trained in basic First Aid.

It was a long day, but very successful, and it was good to get the 2 branches together. We also took the opportunity to present an award from the DSL Incentive Scheme.
