Play Day at the U of L, Feb. 20

Inline Image

The first Family Day Play Day took place Monday Feb. 20 on campus, and from all accounts was quite successful.

Estimated attendance over the four-hour, free event was more than 2,000 people, who were able to take part in a variety of activities including a cardboard construction zone, face painting, fine arts and science projects, sports activities in the gym and the pool  -- and much more.

With a significant number of volunteers from the U of L community (faculty, staff, students, alumni and their families) partners 1st Choice Savings, the Lethbridge Herald and Sodexo pitching in to assist with volunteers and in-kind contributions, Play Day turned into a fun, and sometimes messy, experience for all involved.

The U of L was also the host site for the finale of the Lethbridge portion of the Rick Hansen Relay, a massive effort to retrace the Canadian portion of the Man in Motion journey Rick Hansen undertook 25 years ago to support spinal cord research.

Some of the images from this event can be viewed here.
