Marisa Gustafson's 1977 Lincoln Continental

This month we would like to highlight DVAP customer, Marisa Gustafson and her 1977 Lincoln Continental Convertible. This car was passed down from her father John Gustafson, who bought it under very unique circumstances. (Story & photos below)

Marisa has been visting us for a few years now, and whether the parts are small or large, she makes the drive out to us from California each time.  This is not your typical, lucky, hand-me-down ownership of a classic car situation.  Marisa has put long hours into her dad's car and spent many hours here with us, tools in hand and let me tell you, she is not afraid to get dirty. She leaves with as much AZ dirt on her hands as we have on ours. We thank you Marisa for sharing your story with us all. Happy restorations!

Marisa's Story

This Continental was Ford "factory" customed into a convertible for President Jimmy Carter's Inaugural Parade.  My Dad was a top Lincoln-Mercury dealer around that time and he was able to acquire the car through Ford Motor Co. after the parade in 1977.

He passed away in 1997 when I turned 12 years old; it wasn't until age 18 that I started paying attention to the old boat and now at age 30 I'm a full fledged Lincoln and Ford enthusiast.
